The Colombo High Court has scheduled the next hearing of the corruption case against former Minister Chandrani Bandara for 28 July, following proceedings held before High Court Judge Sahan Mapa Bandara.
The case, filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, accuses Bandara of unlawfully appointing H.M. Chandrawansa as Project Director at the Ministry of Women, Child Affairs, and Dry Zone Development during her tenure under the previous Yahapalana government.
She is also alleged to have illegally recruited several associates into various Ministry positions, violating administrative procedures.
The case was officially filed on 20 May, following the submission of indictments on 06 May, after which Bandara was released on two personal sureties of Rs.1 million each.The court has directed investigators to submit relevant documentation by the next hearing date.
