About 500 individuals had expressed their views during the public consultation sessions on the third electricity tariff revision proposed for this year, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) said yesterday.
The country-wide consultation process began on 18 September in the Eastern Province and was conducted across all provinces.
The final session was held on Thursday (8) at the BMICH, focusing on the Western Province.
The Commission sources said that all views and proposals gathered during the sessions would be reviewed before a final decision on the tariff revision was announced in the second week of October.
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has proposed a 6.8% increase in electricity tariffs in its submission to the PUCSL.
