The awarding ceremony of Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki festa organized by the Sri Lanka National Commission for UNESCO with the sponsorship of the Mitsubishi Corporation to felicitate  school children who won the “Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki Festa” picture-diary competition was held on Thursday [August 28] at Temple Trees,with the participation of the Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who is the Chairperson to the Sri Lanka National Commission for UNESCO, together with Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka.ISOMATA Akio

The “Enikki Festa” competition is held with the objective of fostering intercultural empathy among Asian children while nurturing creativity and 300 winners were felicitated from the competition held in Sri Lanka.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister stated that this program embodies a special recognition of imagination, creativity, and friendship among nations and further emphasized that through the children’s creations, Sri Lanka shares its values, traditions, and everyday life with the world while carrying the pride of the nation to the international stage.

The Prime Minister also extended her special appreciation for the assistance extended by the Government of Japan towards Sri Lanka’s development in various fields, including education and technological advancement.
