Taking a major stride in addressing the need for safe drinking water, three (03) new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants installed by the Navy were declared open at Katarampura Vidyalaya in Dutuwewa, Ulpathwea Monastery and Jamiul Milfar Jumma Masjid Mosque in Horowpothana in Anuradhapura on 05 Jul 25.
Implemented under the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) efforts, this project was carried out with funds made possible by the Presidential Secretariat. With a daily purification capacity of approximately 10,000 liters each, the plants are set to provide safe drinking water to school children, clergy and residents of respective localities. Moreover, this magnanimous project of the Navy reached its 1112th milestone with the opening of the 3 new facilities.
Aligned with the government’s vision of ‘ A vigorous life – Healthy people’, the Navy is advancing its magnanimous NSR project to supply safe drinking water to communities deprived of such access.
