Advisory for heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre at 8.30 p.m. 30 August 2024, valid until 8.30 p.m, on 31 August 2024
Multi day fishing vessels in the Northern Bay of Bengal Sea area have been warned that the low-pressure area located over the Central and adjoining North Bay of Bengal is very likely to move west-orthwestwards and intensify into a Depression over the West-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal Sea area during subsequent 36 hours.
Thereafter, it is likely to move west-northwestwards and reach North Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha coasts.
Very strong winds (70-80) kmph accompanied with heavy rainfalls and very rough seas are likely over the above sea areas.
Naval and fishing communities are advised not to venture into the sea areas bounded by (10N – 20N) and (82E – 95E) during next 2 days (31 August and 01
Actions Required:
Those who are out at aforementioned sea regions are advised to return to coasts or moved safer areas immediately.
Fishing and naval community are requested to be attentive to future forecasts issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regard.
