14 election-related violent incidents since July 31

Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake said yesterday that since July 31, 2024, the EC had received complaints regarding 14 violent incidents. They were among altogether 2,098 complaints received from that date to 4.30 pm on Sept. 2, he said. The complaints pertain to 14 violent incidents, 2,020 election violations and 64 other incidents.
