A Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) would establish an efficient state service, SJB leader Sajith Premadasa said on Monday unveiling his Mihintale Prakashanaya policies.
Premadasa said that Buddhism would be promoted and protected and that he would not abuse the powers of the executive presidency.
“We must remember that the President is maintained by taxpayers. I will try my best to reduce expenses. I will think out of the box and will lift the country out of poverty,” he said.
Premadasa said the Archaeology Department must be strengthened and archaeological tourism can be promoted using our heritage.
“My father wanted to promote Theravada Buddhism and to establish an international bhikkhu training university. I want to establish this centre at the Mihintale sacred site,” he said.
