The Sri Lanka Air Force’s Beechcraft aircraft is taking part in the inaugural edition of India’s biennial multinational air combat exercise, Tarang Shakthi. This prestigious event, which commenced on 6th August 2024, boasts the participation of 150 aircraft from 11 nations, with 18 additional countries observing.
The first phase of Tarang Shakthi was successfully held at Sulur Air Force Station, Tamil Nadu, India, from 6th to 14th August 2024. The second and final phase is currently taking place at Jodhpur Air Force Station, Rajasthan, and is set to conclude on 14th September 2024. The Sri Lanka Air Force Beechcraft is among the 70 to 80 aircraft actively participating in each phase of this significant exercise.
Tarang Shakthi is the largest international air exercise ever hosted by India, highlighting the country’s growing role in global defence cooperation. The Sri Lanka Air Force’s involvement in this event reflects its firm commitment to enhancing military ties with India and other international partners.
The Beechcraft’s participation in Tarang Shakthi provides the Sri Lanka Air Force aircrew with invaluable training opportunities, further reinforcing their operational capabilities.
