The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the action taken by the President,under the powers vested by him by Article 150(4) of the Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka to release Rs. 5 billion from the Consolidated Fund for the year 2024 to conduct the General Election on 14th November 2024.
Further, approval was also granted by the Cabinet of Ministers to allocate 06 billion rupees for the additional expenses related to conducting the general election to be settled in the year 2025 through the Vote on Account expected to be submitted to the Parliament for the year 2025
