A team of International Monetary Fund officials is set to visit Sri Lanka this week and meet President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The IMF team was making a courtesy visit, said Professor Anil Jayantha Fernando, Head of the NPP Economic Council. In his inaugural national address, President Dissanayake stated that Sri Lanka aimed to initiate discussions with the IMF and creditors at the earliest opportunity. The NPP has expressed its intention to revise certain aspects of the programme.
