Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody has said the National People’s Power (NPP) government will implement wind power projects finalised by previous governments.
The announcement was made during his recent visit to the Manner areas, where the new wind power stations were to be established.
According to a statement issued by the Energy Ministry, Jayakody visited the then CEB’s Thambapanni wind power station and the proposed site for a 100 mw wind power station at Mullikulam.
The Minister also visited the place where a 50 mw wind power station, undertaken by Hayley’s Fentons, would be established soon. The Ministry said that the work on Hayleys Fenton project, situated next to the proposed Mullikulam power station, would commence soon.
