Teacher educators to strike, demanding rectification of salary anomalies

The Sri Lanka Education Service Lecturer Trade Union has announced a two-day sick note campaign on 26 and 27 June in protest against the government’s failure to rectify their salary anomalies.

Union Secretary S. M. P. Bandara said that at a recent meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, a promise had been made to review progress within two weeks. However, there had been no follow-up action, he added.
