Properties worth Rs. 160 million, belonging to two major drug traffickers from the Borella and Kandana areas, are to be confiscated after the Illegal Assets Investigation Unit push the relevant matters in court.
According to police sources, the properties belong to two drug traffickers known by the aliases “Konda Ajith” from Kadana and “Borelle Junda” from Borella.
The confiscated assets include three large houses and two luxury vehicles belonging to Borelle Junda. In addition, a spacious house, valued at Rs. 60 million, owned by Konda Ajith from Kadana, has also been handed over to the government custody, pending legal work.
Following a lengthy investigation against these drug traffickers, it was revealed that these properties were acquired through drug trafficking, which led to their confiscation.
The individual, known as Borelle Junda from Borella, is currently in prison, while Konda Ajith from Kadana is reported to be hiding in Dubai, continuing his involvement in drug trafficking.Investigating officers said that following the seizure of these properties, steps are being taken to present the matter to court and have the assets formally vested in the state.
