Former State Minister and ex-MP Nimal Lanza was remanded until 12 September by the Negombo Magistrate’s Court after surrendering to the Kochchikade Police earlier yesterday (29).
Lanza faces charges filed by the Attorney General in connection with an alleged assault and trespassing incident during a
protest in 2006. Police confirmed that the former minister voluntarily surrendered before being formally arrested.The ongoing investigation seeks to determine Lanza’s involvement in the incident, which also included alleged property damage.
