Gerald makes history even in retirement

Gerald Mendis, former cricketer of St Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, who holds the highest scorer’s record of 148 runs in the big match series against Prince of Wales College unbroken since 1966, recently won the over 65 Tennis Tournament conducted by the SLTA, at the age of 79 years.

He worked as a cabin crew member at Air Ceylon, Air Lanka and SriLankan airlines as a cabin crew member and retired as senior Cabin Crew Executive.

He is the elder brother of Duleep Mendis, the former national cricket captain.
