Cabinet reshuffle sees new portfolios for three Ministers and 10 Deputy Ministers sworn in

The government yesterday announced new portfolios for three Cabinet Ministers and 10 Deputy Ministers, following a Cabinet reshuffle.

The swearing-in ceremony saw Bimal Niroshan Rathnayake appointed as Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, Anura Karunathilaka as Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, and Dr. H.M. Susil Ranasinghe as Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply.

Ten Deputy Ministers were also sworn in: Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando (Finance and Planning), T.B. Sarath (Housing, Construction and Water Supply), M. Muneer (Religious and Cultural Affairs), Eranga

Gunasekara (Urban Development), Dr. Muditha Hansaka Wijemuni (Health), Aravinda Senarath Vitharana (Lands and Irrigation), H.M. Dinindu Saman Kumara (Youth Affairs), U.D. Nishantha Jayaweera (Economic Development), Dr. Kaushalya Ariyarathne (Mass Media), and M. Arkam (Energy).

The government stated that the reshuffle aims to accelerate development initiatives and improve administrative efficiency in line with the 2026 Budget.
