The Colombo High Court has scheduled the hearing of the Bribery Commission’s case against former Minister Priyankara Jayaratne for 10 December, 2025.
The matter was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal yesterday (10), during which both prosecution and defence lawyers requested permission to examine the original documents relevant to the case.
The judge allowed the parties to review the documents and concluded the pre-trial conference.Jayaratne faces charges of corruption, allegedly influencing officials of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to deposit Rs. 494,000 into a bank account in Chilaw during his tenure as Minister of Civil Aviation.
