Acting on information received by the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI), Vavuniya police, on Sunday (19), took one person into custody, along with a huge stock of prescription anxiety drug worth Rs 53,850,000.
Military sources identified the arrested person as a resident of Mandalakuda, Kalpitiya. Sources said that at the time the detection was made the stock was being transported in a cab in the Moonrumurippu area.
It is a prescription medication used to treat nerve pain, epilepsy, and generalised anxiety disorder. It works by calming overactive nerves in the central nervous system.
