Jaffna District MP Ramanathan Archchuna yesterday (21) said in Parliament that he had received death threats from NPP Puttalam District MP Muhammad Faizal during an argument in the Parliament cafeteria.
Raising a privilege issue in Parliament, MP Archchuna said he had raised a question in the House about an issue in the Puttalam District and that had angered MP Faizal.
Archchuna urged the Speaker to launch a formal probe into the incident, demanding that CCTV footage from the cafeteria area be examined as part of the investigation.
MP Faizal has denied the allegation.
