Generous Hearts Foundation uplifts rural lives

For the past three years, Generous Hearts Foundation has been working in rural areas to uplift the lives of school children and families.

Its most recent initiative is a drinking water project, mainly in the Anuradhapura District, which aims not only to provide purified drinking water but also to reduce kidney disease by ensuring long-term access to safe water, a news release said.

“Through this project, we have connected with more than 25 schools and several villages, reaching over 3,000 children and their families. We have installed new RO (reverse osmosis) plants, repaired and upgraded existing systems, and supplied purified water to communities in need.

This project was made possible with the generous support of EFL Vietnam, EFL Sri Lanka, and several individual donors who joined hands with us,” it said.

“In addition to the water project, we have also carried out several other initiatives in Anuradhapura and other districts across Sri Lanka, including:

Providing sanitary napkins to schools for over a year until government supply was available.

Supplying stationery items to school children.

Renovating school libraries to support education.

Donating disability equipment to children and families.”

More details of our work are regularly shared on our Facebook page: Generous Hearts Foundation.
