A national economic census will be conducted next month, covering all sectors of the economy, according to the Census and Statistics Department.Data would be gathered on crop cultivation, livestock management, and fisheries, and will be carried out countrywide, the Department sources said.
According to officials, the exercise aims to ascertain information about the population engaged in agriculture and related industries across the country.
Around 16,000 officers are expected to be deployed for the census, which will serve as a key tool for policy planning and development in the agricultural sector.Meanwhile, the Department also said that an industrial and service sector census will be conducted early next year, covering businesses and service establishments throughout the country.
