President of the Federation Internationale de I’ Automobile (FIA) commends the Automobile Association of Ceylon

The Federation Internationale de 1’ Automobile (FIA), the world’s largest motoring organisation—representing 258 clubs across 150 countries—held its annual conference in Macau from June 9th to 12th, 2025.

The conference covered a range of important topics related to mobility and motor sport, all aimed at enhancing the experiences and safety of motorists worldwide.

The Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC) was represented by Dhammika Attygalle (President), Ananda Dangalle (Vice President), S. Ganesh (Vice President), Dampiya Banagala (Executive Committee Member), Wickrama Punchihewa (Executive Committee Member), and Devapriya Hettiarachchi (Secretary).

During the conference, the AAC delegation had the honour of meeting with Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the FIA. President Sulayem praised the AAC’s significant progress in advancing road safety initiatives under the leadership of Dhammika Attygalle, highlighting the Association’s outstanding efforts in recent years.

Furthermore, the FIA President recognised the AAC’s steadfast commitment to supporting and aligning with global mobility initiatives and international best practices. In appreciation of these contributions, Mohammed Ben Sulayem formally presented a letter of commendation to Dhammika Attygalle, President of the Automobile Association of Ceylon.
