Acting on information provided by the Crime Division Peliyagoda (Western Province, North) the Sri Lanka Coast Guard conducted a special search operation, in the seas off Bentota, where they recovered about 44 kgs of crystal methamphetamine, also known as ‘Ice,’ on Tuesday.
The operation was carried out by the Coast Guard, deploying Inshore Patrol Craft.
The stock of narcotics, taken into custody, was handed over to the crime division Peliyagoda for further investigation and legal proceedings
SLCG has estimated the street value of the recovered stock at Rs 703 mn.
