Under the ongoing countrywide anti-narcotics operation, the police have arrested 25,550 suspects since 30 Oct., and seized 1,456 kilos of illegal drugs.
Police media spokesperson ASP F.U. Wootler said the haul included 133.910 kg of heroin, 650.880 kg of methamphetamine (ice), 0.010 kg of cocaine, 553.900 kg of cannabis, 1,385,088 cannabis plants, 16.929 kg of kush, 32.282 kg of hashish, 57,177 narcotic tablets, 13.328 kg of madana modaka, and 59.243 kg of opium.
Of those taken into custody, 614 suspects were remanded, 638 were referred for rehabilitation, and investigations have been launched against 26 individuals for illegal asset accumulation.
The police media division added that 16 intoxicated drivers and 26 reckless drivers had been apprehended and legal action taken against 4,383 individuals for various other traffic violations.
