Airport urges travellers to use expressway amid flooding

The airport authorities yesterday (30) advised passengers travelling to the Bandaranaike International Airport to use the Colombo–Katunayake Expressway, as several access roads remain flooded due to the severe weather affecting the country.

Officials said the expressway currently offered the safest and most reliable route to the airport.

Passengers were also asked not to bring visitors into the terminal, in a bid to reduce congestion during the ongoing weather emergency.

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Ltd. said it was striving to maintain normal operations despite the challenging conditions, and appealed for public cooperation.
